Pattern deal.

A lot of reenactment level work is about learning appropriate historical crafts and skills. This board is for all general skills that don't have their own forum.

Pattern deal.

Post by Willrett »

I had to work yesterday and while I was out I stopped by a Jo Ann fabrics and they were having a sale for the holiday.
Simplicity patterns for a dollar each and butterick for 50% off. They also had sale on buttons. I picked up the cat print and bear print buttons also a couple wood ones and a bone. As soon as I make anything I will post it. I also found a new hobby place that had a large leather selection but I was out of cash at this point.

I have that Butterick pattern set, I'll be making myself a pair of the larger Bracers shortly. Butterick also has a pattern for a pair of boots, the only thing holding it up is finding a decent pair of soles.

The only place around here for leather other than online is Irving Tannery about an hour away. They don't sell full hides but if you scrounge around in the remnants you can usually find some pretty good leather pieces.

I have all those Simplicity patterns and have used several. The Butterick pattern for pouches/bracers and boots will be added to the collection soon (thanks to you guys bringing it to my attention).
Still round the corner there may wait a new road or a secret gate and though I oft have passed them by a day will come at last when I shall take the hidden paths that run west of the moon, east of the sun.
