Season 3 Vikings starts tonight!

In approximately three hours I will be seated, mead in horn, starting the seasons of Vikings on History chanel! Yay!
The first episode is called: "Mercernaries" and King Rgnar and "Earl Ingstaad" will be returning to England to claim the land promised them by the King, good luck with that!
I wish they didn't take a whole year to come out, it's like waiting for the Hobbit movies! But good things come to those who wait, they say. All I know is that I have watched all the episodes marathon style for two days to refresh my memory and I will be armed with seax and axe, if anyone gets between me and the TV I will draw a Blood Eagle upon their back! (or wine very pitiously and obnoxiously till they move, their choice)

Well off to an interesting start!
It is a good entertainment and has introduced people to the genre. Now it is time to use that popularity to educate those new enthusiasts as to what the people of that time period refered to as the "Viking Age" were really like.

and felt it summed up alot of my feelings toward the show and what I am hoping to do. I hope to use it as a springboard to launch the Viking lecture series I have set up at several libraries in the area for the spring.

I have to wait till another network shows it in summer, but I still get them on BluRay...sigh, the waiting game

Apparently it's now available on Hulu Plus, which is cool. My fiance and I got hooked on it when we got a free Amazon Prime trial back in January, and then the trial ended we were crushed, haha. But we were looking around on Hulu just a couple days ago, and it turns out they just added it, so we're pretty psyched to start watching it again.

Glad there are other Viking fans in the forum. I re-watched the first 2 seasons...in prep for the new one. I really like the way they film the battle scenes. They have such a tight budget and time frame, that they can only do one shot. Where on a movie set, they will do several. So they fall and stumble and it gets left in.....which is far more realistic.

Agreed, the battle scenes from this season so far are looking nice as well
