I have toyed with the idea of making a staff/bow. I started with the basic 30mm width staff and strapped a bow to the side of it. It worked well when carried at brace height, but flapped around a bit otherwise.
I then moved on to the concept of carving a groove into the staff and glueing the bow into it. I didn't get past this basic idea because we live off-grid and the thought of carving out that metre length groove without power tools was daunting.
What are your thoughts on a staff-bow? Have any of you tried it?

Peter, that staff looks very cool. I'll have to give that a try.
I've got a bowcase for my longbox. It will also carry a quiver full of arros. In good weather I used to ride my bike over to a local SCA archery practice, with bow slug across my back.
I know I got some strange looks from the motorists I passed, man on a motorcycle, longbow across his back...
