Oh Helm and Hammer

This is a poem I wrote a while back, which was inspired by a Turisas song called "To Holmgard and Beyond" (check it out!). While it's not LotR inspired, I think some dwarves would get a kick out of it =) Oh Thor and Odin protect us Let us be swift and mighty Give us gold, mead, and women B...

Re: An Artistic Update

David; To the best of my knowledge there are no problems with the Gallery. You are eligible since you have achieved passed the Silent Watcher status. Just drop Jack or Greg a pm and they should be able to hook you up. Unless I'm just blind, there doesn't seem to be a way for me to either add to an ...

Re: Corruption

Very nice! I'm glad to see there's other writers on the forum besides Mirimaran and myself (I just don't post them here because it would clog up the forum!).

Yay!! A new web comic to waste my time with! =) Also, you guys (and gals) might like "Looking For Group" and "Order of the Stick" as well. Looking For Group is a fantasy web comic by Lar Desouza & Ryan Sohmer, and "The Order of the Stick" is a D&D based web comi...

Re: Whats your program for ranger fitness?

Well, as you might have noticed, my exercise regimen is to do as little as possible! =)

I did lose about 15 lbs. last semester from walking everywhere. Now I just have to try and keep it off during the summer.

Re: Weapon I.D.

I was just wondering if something like it already existed, so that I wouldn't have to create a name for it. My book is fantasy, not historical fiction or anything, so I can pull it off. I envisioned it as more of a thrusting spear, not throwing. Although I wanted to have the opposite end removable, ...

Re: Rangers and the SCA

I honestly feel that you could create a persona that would generally work for both groups, you just wouldn't call yourself a ranger around other SCAdians. Hope it works out! I personally like my Irish/Norwegian persona, and prefer to keep SCA and Rangering seperate. David Known in the SCA as Dauidh ...

Re: Rangers and the SCA

Having been a ranger re-enactor and a member of the SCA, I feel that for the most part, they're a totally different animal. But, fortunately for us, Tolkien based the Dunedain and the other races of men on ancient European cultures. So, many bits of kit that you use for the SCA would fit into your r...
