Re: The battle of Framsburg

This is not just a flight of fancy; clearly you have put some serious effort in.

Well done.

Re: Good Low-Magic TTRPG Systems?

Hey folks! I know I’ve been terribly absent on these forums lately, but I wanted to pop in and ask this here, even though it’s pretty off-topic, because I know there are plenty of nerdy gamers on here who also happen to like realism in their fantasy (hence… y’know… everything we do). So I feel like...

Re: New Project: Linen surcoat

https://i.imgur.com/frbSuUD.jpg Okay, I have to ask you. On both the front and the reverse you have leather straps linking the buttons, but one on the front, and one on the back has one edge cut at an angle. The only thing I can think of is that you wanted to be able to tell which one it was by tou...

Just because you wax it doesn't mean you have to always wear it. Keep it rolled up until required

Re: MERF Random Adventure Pictures

The boots are Son of Sandlar 9 button. I wasn't sure if those arm street boots would be durable enough for the woods. Sandlar boots are great. They are really modern day with an oldish style about them and I have never heard a single bad thing about them. The Armstreet Forest boots are great. They ...

Re: Clothes vs Costume

What size are the phone pouches? Do you have a picture of them? I have a tarp I wear on a belt under my pack. Having it on a belt helps distribute the weight of the pack. Also I can take it with me when I leave the pack behind. If the situation calls for it. I'll attempt to post a pic of the tarp u...

It's good to see a fellow Ranger that uses the Zombie Tools My various kits consist of the "Mauler", the "Reaver Cleaver", the "Scyllis", the "Traumahawk" and the "Zakasushi". All depends on the situation of course. And frankly the rest of your kit i...

Re: Clothes vs Costume

Thanks for the detailed answer. I only have one kit. I keep everything necessary for survival on my belts. I keep the extra amenities you mentioned (hygiene, a bowl and such in a pack). In the wild I carry the pack until I set camp. Then I can scout with just what's on my belts. When we go to Ren f...

Re: New Project: Linen surcoat

It's more of a costume item really, I guess it would offer protection from sharp undergrowth but it doesn't keep me warm or dry, it's just an extra layer for the sake of looks, that's more pleasant to wear in the heat than wool. When I was making it I decided to make it with a lined construction be...

Re: Clothes vs Costume

I have also adopted the multiple belts and pouches system. I'm working on the ability to survive in the wild with only my kit. I'm interested to hear how you are set up currently. I have most of my kit together. I just need a smaller tarp. I went too big 10x10. The size would be fine if it didn't w...
