Re: Sharpening stone and holster build

Thats my reasoning Iodo, I'm thinking along the lines of three levels of kit. Survival: this gear is fixed to your body . In your pockets, pouches(belt, neck, wrist, boot or body-strap) or (as in our chosen culture) on the mining belt. It would include enough gear to survive if you lost everything e...

Re: Population density of the Beornings/woodsmen

I will admit that I've always seen Beorn's folk living as more bears do then other Men. Solitary adults, single families or rarely very small clans (groups of related families, such as siblings with their spouses and children) on small low impact homesteads with a defined territory...... Close enoug...

I though it would be..... Never mind.

For F&S fire lighting I use worn out gunflints

Re: I got a rock!

Those look great, pity I'm in the UK as postage would make them far to expensive for me..... Otherwise I'd be tempted to buy a set. Re: I got a rock!

Manv: If Megan could cut you the right sized blanks, you can finish and shape them on a coarse carborundium 'stone'. Obviously a Practical stone will cost more then a static prop due to the extra work (both yours and Megan's). Of course its hard to find a good rock...... Why else would you carry the...

Iodo: I'm a re-enactor and I have to be aware of the legal hoops I have to jump through. Curved blade over 50cm covers most military sabres as well...... Its a really badly worded and poorly thought out bit of legislation

Hello, my name is Ulfr, and I am a rock addict... Greetings Ulfr, you sit among friends Ok on a serious note, the jade whetstone sent me down a rabbit hole. After some research and digging on our farm.... I grabbed a chunk of sandstone, ran it through the stone saw , and tried it... I took my old b...

Re: New utility/fighting knife

It might be a UK knife law thing though, there are some funny rules about curved blades so Etsy might have blocked it? I don't think its big enough to fall foul of the "Samuri Sword" prohibition. “It is illegal to bring into the UK, sell, hire, lend, give or possess in private swords with...

Re: Traveling Dwarven persona and pack ideas

Glad you're still hanging in there, RL issues do have an annoying tendency to get in the way of important things. Good that you got something to test and unfortunate that Version#1 proved unworkable. Because we don't have historical examples of 3rd Age Middle Earth Dwarven backpacks to copy, we must...
