Be sure to carry some food that does not need cooking. I like parched corn mixed with walnuts and dried cherries, mebbe with a touch of brown sugar well mixed in...I like a lot of dried cherries...and will sometime leave out the sugar. I also carry jerk. Sometimes....you just have to deal with it.

I tend to "smudge" any chance I get.

I let the fire die down then add green growth and let it get smoky....then wrap up in my blanket and "trap the smoke"....

Also is effective camo when hunting....
